About the programme
Ishan Institute of Management and Technology organized a Workshop on “Women Safety & Empowerment” for Management and Commerce students on 16th June 2023. Women’s safety & empowerment is a burning issue, and considering the scenario, it is crucial to increase and improve the social, economic, political, and legal strength of the women, to ensure equal-right to women, and to make them confident enough to claim their rights. Ms. Preeti Yadav – IPS (Upper Police Upayukt Mahila Suraksha, Additional DCP Women’s Safety) was invited to address and guide the students on such an alarming issue. A total of 20 students attended the workshop.
She informed students about the Helpline Number – 1090 which is for the women who want to report harassment, stalking or phone-related abuse. She added that almost all women, at some point or the other, become victims of violent crimes. Incidents of eve teasing, and rape have become very common. The best way out is to empower oneself with the right information & technique.
